TUESDAY'S POST (7/2)
Feeling accomplished, even in the clouds!
I'll just warn you ahead of time, this post might be short... I'm beat!
...So today's planned hike, as mentioned from yesterday's post, went really well... Longest hike of the year so far! We started off at Starvation Creek, West of Hood River, and just off the I-84. Our objective: Mount Defiance-Starvation Ridge Loop. This trail starts steeply and quickly, leading ultimately up to Mount Defiance, the highest point in the entire Columbia River Gorge! The trek has a total elevation climb of about 4959 ft., and lasted roughly 6 hours in duration. Now, I will add we we're moving at a quick pace, so if you are interested, you may want to plan for longer. Along the way we stopped a total of about three times; Once on the way up to take in a view, at the very top of Mount Defiance, and on the way back down, at Warren lake.
...Total distance 12.8 miles!
Again, feeling quite accomplished, especially given the steepness of the trail, and the overall time it took to complete.
Well, I must go... Real Estate begins again tomorrow!
...But before I do, and as promised, I'll leave you with a few pics from today's hike. - Sean
