Getting rid of the 'fluff'!
Today, feels like a great time to begin reflecting on what's most important in life, and to what could easily be let go of due to conflict with our individual goals... Basically, it's a great time to get rid of the 'fluff'!
As we head further into the month and towards Winter, I can't help but think about the life I want to lead into next year. And yes, while there is still time before this occurs, I feel it's never too early to begin the process. Depending on our individual situation, change can take some time, so the earlier we start, the sooner we can enjoy the results.
'Fluff' comes in many forms... Whether it's dealing with finances (excessive debt), clutter in the home (excessive objects), or even scheduling (excessive activities), each can take away from our overall health and happiness. Sometimes as we go through our daily routines, 'Fluff' can start to accumulate, and if left unattended, can soon become quite heavy in our lives. This is why taking the time to reflect on what's most important, compared to what is only taking up time and mind, is often needed.
One tip that has proved helpful to me, and might also prove helpful to you, is creating a reminder of the 'fluff' you need to take care of. The trick I have learned, is the bigger the reminder and the more in your face it is, the more likely you will deal with it... I personally create a poster or mini-billboard of sorts... Bold and bright, and placed in an area I can't help but see during my everyday routine. Create something so obnoxious that each time you see it, you want nothing more than for it to go away. But don't just simply remove the reminder. It's important to remain accountable for its presence, and only do so once the 'fluff' has finally, and fully been taken care of... It can be hard. I know!... Especially the more ridiculous, outlandish, and obnoxious the reminder is... But again, you must not remove it!.. It's purpose is to annoy you!.. Get you to act until it is no more!
